Biography
Sandra Ramirez is a Latinx writer and photographer from Santa Monica, California, currently living in Chicago. Her poems and essays have been published in literary journals, and she was nominated for a Pushcart Prize and garnered a Notable Mention in Best American Essays in 2014 for her essay, Stray. Her feature, “Pinto,” was a quarter-finalist in the Emerging Screenwriters Genre Competition 2021.
She holds two MFAs, one in Fiction and Literature from Bennington College and another in Screenwriting from the David Lynch School of Screenwriting. A former Pen Emerging Voices Fellow, she has also taught creative writing to kids and teenagers.
