In the near future, a down-trodden, drug-addled private detective is framed for the murder of a shady client he was hired to protect, and he finds himself sucked into a dark criminal conspiracy centered on the proliferation of a very strange and powerful new street drug.

Set in the outlaw country period of music that came to prominence in the late 1960’s and early 70’s, Chickenwire follows the misadventures of Loel Daniels, a golden-voiced, reprobate, self-destructive country singer as he struggles on the road and with his own demons on his way to becoming a country music legend.
