RELICTS OF WEIRWORLD

Pandemonium ensues. (P.S. In case of interest: This script's registered with WGA East, 5/1/2015 until 5/1/2025; Reg.#1275905)
LADIES FIRST

In Civil War-era Washington, gloves and fans are ladies' weapons of choice, and every cut wounds like a sword. Free Black woman Madame Elizabeth Keckly, whose couture creations rival Worth's of Paris, observes firsthand the rivalries and machinations between clients including Mary Todd Lincoln, Kate Chase, Varina Davis and other society doyennes as the country is torn by war. (This work originated as a play, submitted to Ford's Theatre in 2008, but easily could be adapted as a screenplay; after all, any seamstress worth her salt can always rip out a few seams and re-sew them. My own original research yielded the variant "Keckly" as opposed to "Keckley"; I will yield to any actual historians regarding the correct spelling.)
