Maureen McEly is a former reality tv producer turned screenwriter, who hides heavy themes in fun, high concept dramedies. She is a Nicholl Semifinalist, a Slamdance Semifinalist, and a WeScreenplay Finalist. She is also disabled, with a neuromuscular disease called myasthenia gravis, and was honored to be a Screenwriting Fellow for the 2022 RespectAbility Lab for entertainment industry professionals with disabilities. In addition to screenplays, she writes short humor for McSweeney's Internet Tendency, occasionally funny tweets, and is a published short story author.
