I’m a working-class writer. My background is in investigative journalism covering issues around race, corruption, and poverty on the southside of Chicago. My southside roots never left me when I transitioned into screenwriting full-time, while still working a full-time working-class gig. I write what pisses me off, what gives me hope, and what makes me feel alive. That mostly comes in the form of features, usually grounded sci-fi thrillers and action.
On the decayed southeast side of Chicago, a jaded detective must convince the unarmed teen victim of a police shooting to help her catch a cop killer, while riots and violence toward police build throughout the city.
