Biography

Kathryn Machi is a proud, enrolled citizen of the Cherokee Nation and a dual American-French citizen. Her TV drama, June Rose: An American Chronicle, and feature Firebird (in development), are both on The Indigenous List, representing "the best and most promising Native creatives in the film and television industry.” As executive producer/writer, Kathryn is developing The Pistils, a thriller dramatizing the crisis of MMIWG through spoken word and music. As a working mother, she won Women's and Native American scholarships at San Francisco State University, where she earned her BA/MFA in Creative Writing. Kathryn and her husband have two adult children and live in San Francisco, California.
