Biography

ViacomCBS finalist, developing a biopic feature, Jennifer Kim is a Korean American writer, journalist, and former teacher who grew up in Appalachia. After graduating from UCLA film school (MFA), Jennifer worked at KCET-TV (PBS) on puppet shows and in news, contributed to USA TODAY and LOS ANGELES TIMES, and was a radio storyteller on KCRW (NPR) before becoming a high school journalism teacher and law school student at night.

She is an ISA Grand Prize Winner for Sci-Fi & Fantasy, ISA Fast Track Fellowship Comedy Genre Winner, Hopwood Award Winner for Drama, Final Draft Big Break Semifinalist, and has placed in Page and Austin. Jennifer writes comedic dramas and true stories about rebels and outsiders who challenge the system – but in a lighthearted way. She loves to mix self-discovery and social themes with absurdity. Jennifer is based in Los Angeles and aspires to be a great pickleball player.
