Hugh Blanc is a Canadian-born, Trinidadian-raised writer and editor. His debut novel Between Bodies Lie received a starred review from Kirkus Reviews and was listed as a "Best Book of 2013" by Kirkus Reviews as well as The Trinidad Guardian. Additionally Hugh has authored two works of non-fiction; Louison: His Painted Words and Bryden: Colour of Memory (a Bocas Lit Fest People’s Choice Nominee). Hugh has written numerous magazine articles, and acted as lead writer for the online series Story of the Nation (SoTN).
Hugh studied film at York University and recently worked as writer and editor on the documentary To Be a Renegade, which explored the experiences of members of the BP Renegades Steel Orchestra and premiered at the Trinidad & Tobago Film Festival. He has written several screenplays, both on his own and with collaborators on various continents.
