Heather Ellis is an emerging screenwriter from Australia. Her first script is Island Z Origins, which will be followed by its sequel. Heather is the author of two travel memoirs: Ubuntu: One Woman’s Motorcycle Odyssey Across Africa (Black Inc., 2016) and Timeless On The Silk Road: An Odyssey From London to Hanoi (Phonte Publishing, 2019).
Heather's background includes time as a child living on a sheep station in Australia’s outback where she learnt to ride a motorcycle, made friends with the local Aboriginal children and developed a love of the desert. Years later, she worked as a radiation safety technician at a uranium mine in Australia’s Top End, where she realised her dream to explore the world by motorcycle.
After her travels, Heather graduated with a Bachelor of Journalism and worked as a journalist for News Ltd and in communications for an international development agency. She presently works as a communications professional while exploring her emerging passion for screenwriting. She has ten ideas for feature screenplays. All her screenplays are based in Australia with underlying themes that showcase what it means to be Australian. Heather lives in the Yarra Valley, near Melbourne, with her three teenage boys. And she still rides motorcycles.
