After working in the Music Biz for many years and accidentally writing a book about David Bowie and Synthpop, I have turned to my other passion and started writing screenplays.
My first effort, Small On The Map was shortlisted in a TrackingBoard/ScottFree comp in Aug 16 and BBC Writers Room comp in Apr 17. It's been extensively rewritten based on feedback/notes/panic/inspiration.
I am working on my 3rd Screenplay at the moment.
I am trying to write smart, commercial genre-based movies, with original characters and fresh twists. The kind of thing I like to watch.
#1 SMALL ON THE MAP
A fast and darkly comic British Political thriller.
In Bruges, Midnight Run & State Of Play are touchstones
#2 WELCOME TO THE END
A tense, psychological mid-fi Sci-Fi adventure.
A story of Quantum and Human Entanglement
Mr Robot meets Gravity with a slice of classic Disaster Movie chaos
#3 M v M
A high concept action/horror/comedy.
The Burbs meets The Godfather with a Burton-esque otherness.
My favourite films (today) are
The Usual Suspects
Stranger Than Fiction
Hal Hartley’s Trust
Grosse Pointe Blank
The Manchurian Candidate
The Dark Knight
North By Northwest
The Other Guys
Once Upon A Time In The West
An American Werewolf In London
And I really like Prometheus. Despite what they say.
