Luncheonette resembles a live-action "Bob's Burgers" mixed with the comedy-drama family dynamic of "Transparent" when, following the unexpected death of her mother, Maria DeLuca, a driven, workaholic young businesswoman, inherits the South Philly sandwich shop that has been in her family for generations and suddenly has to choose between her blossoming career or keeping the place open — encountering obstacles from a variety of relatives, employees, customers and devious rival restauranteurs
