After studying film and television at Ryerson University in Toronto, Bill joined The Second City Touring Company, where he performed and improvised comedy sketches. He co-wrote, directed and produced an 18-minute short comedy called The Homework Bureau that premiered at TIFF (“a dead-on satire of television cop shows”). Bill made his feature debut writing and directing Eating Buccaneers (“The film is funny, ferocious and full of bitter wit.” Metro News; “3 cheers for Buccaneers!” Toronto Sun; “Think Lost but funny.” The Globe and Mail). Eating Buccaneers was nominated for five Canadian Comedy Awards—including Best Writer for Bill—and Best Director at the Long Island International Film Festival. Bill has, as they say, numerous projects in various stages of development. His dramedy screenplay called Squat was a Finalist in the Hour Long TV Pilot category at the BlueCat Screenwriting Competition.
