Born in Arkansas where I received BS and MS degrees in physics. I've lived in California and worked at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) in Pasadena and currently reside in Alabama. Still working at NASA for soon to be 40 years. Most of my writing has been technical, conference and refereed journal articles. I am passionate about the history of space exploration.
A boy dreamed of space travel and as a young professor a century ago pursued rocket development to realize his dream even though ridiculed on mentioning the possibility of reaching the moon. Against the odds his team and wife pressed to larger, faster rockets. She developed the grit and perseverance to complete his work and take on the US Government.
