Karen Willoughby grew up in New York and graduated from Stuyvesant High School in Manhattan. After completing undergraduate education at the College of New Rochelle, she went to New York University for graduate studies. For years she was part of Actors Conservatory Theatre (ACT) both on stage and crew. After moving to the Netherlands, she became the editor of Elsevier Food International magazine. Upon her return to the United States, she worked in communications at Northwestern University. She has currently returned to Europe and consults for marketing companies.
