The Black List is pleased to announce a partnership with Symbolic Exchange to identify an emerging screenwriter for a blind writing deal with Symbolic Exchange at the Writer Guild of America’s low budget minimum. The selected screenwriter will write an original horror film whose budget must fall within the WGA’s low budget guidelines,
Writers may opt into consideration via the Black List website beginning now, May 3, 2016, until 11:59 pm on August 12, 2016. Opted in scripts DO NOT need to be horror scripts to receive due consideration; however, writers should have great interest in writing an envelope-pushing horror film from a new perspective if selected for this opportunity.
Shortly after the opt-in deadline, the Black List will deliver a short list of writers to Symbolic Exchange for final consideration. Those writers will be expected to provide additional information about their writing background and specific interest in writing a low budget horror film. All evaluations purchased by 11:59 PT on July 12, 2016 will be guaranteed consideration as part of this opportunity.
