To qualify for the Martin Katz parnership, you must opt in to the partnership, and have had your script actively hosted on the site for at least one week during the submission period prior to August 20, 2015. If you have previously hosted a script on the site, you need to host it for at least one week during the period between 7/29/15 and 8/20/15 in order to be considered for this partnership.
As with the Labs, not at all. Certainly more data allows us to make more confident decisions about the strength of the scripts on the site, but by no means is it necessary or recommended to buy up evaluations to improve your chances of being selected.
You must opt in to the partnership by August 20, 2015. To be eligible, you must host a script on the Black list for at least one week between 7/29/15 and 8/20/15.
The Black List will choose six screenplays imbued with an independent spirit, written by screenwriters currently living in Canada, which will be sent on to Mr. Katz for his consideration. The short list will be determined in late August and the Fellowship recipient will be selected by Mr. Katz in early September
The Martin Katz Canadian Independent Screenwriting Fellowship is a program designed to encourage and identify new Canadian talent in the field of independent cinema by awarding one screenwriter with an all-expenses paid trip to the Toronto Film Festival, an opportunity to meet with Producer Martin Katz (Cosmopolis, Hotel Rwanda) and participation in the Black List's Toronto Screenwriters Mini-Lab at TIFF.
