Based on the ratings of the submissions received, the Black List will create a Short List containing ten eligible writers. Writers on the Short List will be invited to submit a one page professional biography and/or one-page personal statement (see the Submission Requirements for more details) that will be read, along with the writer's Short-Listed screenplay, by executives from the Company and the National Football League. The Company may then choose two writers with whom to contract for a Blind Deal. The Short List will be determined within 7 days following the expiration of the Submission Period.
Yes, you may opt-out of the NFL Submission Call any time prior to the submission deadline. If you wish to opt-out, go back to the submission page and click the "Opt out" link next to the script you wish to opt out.
Not at all. Certainly more data allows the Black List to make more confident decisions about the strength of the scripts on the site, but by no means is it necessary or recommended to buy up evaluations to improve your chances of being selected.
Yes, but be aware that since the opportunity is for participation in the Company and NFL submission call, the totality of a writer's submissions will be considered by the Black List in determining the Short List and only the writer's strongest script will be shared with the Company and the NFL to inform their final decision.
The Black List will determine the short list based on available data about opted in scripts through July 25, 2014.
Remember: Script must be opted in for at least a week to be eligible, which means they must be uploaded by at least July 18, 2014. Further, paid evaluations typically take between 2-3 weeks to complete, and we do not guarantee turnaround times. It is strongly advised that you plan to purchase evaluations that you do so as soon as possible so that they can be processed, and their data can be included in the evaluative process.
To be considered for this Program, a script need only be live on the site for a minimum of one week during the submission period. If your script has not been hosted during that submission period, we recommend reactivating the script for one week at some point during this submission period.
Yes, you may. Please note, however, that if you are selected for the Company/NFL Call, your services may be required in the U.S. All persons selected will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification document form upon hire.
