The Black List has partnered with IRIS & New York Women in Film and Television to identify ten female writers over the age of 40 who will receive the Black List's recommendation and a fee waiver in the NYWIFT process.
To have their scripts considered, writers must host their scripts on The Black List website for at least one week during the period from 3/1/16 to 4/7/16. Based on all data collected about the scripts (ratings and reviews on the website) during their hosting on the site through April 7, the Black List will identify 10 of the strongest scripts to be shared with IRIS & New York Women in Film and Television. Those writers will be invited to fill out an application for consideration for The Writers Lab at The Guest House Retreat located in the Connecticut River Valley from September 22-25.
We highly encourage writers to purchase evaluations they'd like to be considered as early as possible given that the window for submissions is very small. Evaluations on the Black List website can take up to 3 weeks from the time of purchase.
The Writers Lab brings 12 promising scripts from women screenwriters over the age of 40 together with outstanding professional female filmmakers for an intensive three-day script development workshop.
Because our finalists are determined by examining all data about opted in scripts for site partnerships, we strongly advise purchasing at least one evaluation. In the event that the purchase of a single evaluation is cost prohibitive, please follow us on social media and the Black List blog where opportunities for free and discounted evaluations appear from time to time.
