ATX 2018 Television Festival Submission Call
ATX and The Black List have partnered with HBO, Bad Robot, Carlton Cuse Productions, Okay Goodnight, Annapurna, Kilter Films, and Amblin Entertainment on a unique writing program for the third year, specifically designed to identify TV writers for staffing consideration across the participating networks, studios and production companies.
To have their scripts considered, writers must host their original pilots on The Black List website for at least one week during the period from 10/17/17 to 1/8/18. Based on all data collected about the scripts during their hosting on the site through January 8, 2018, The Black List will identify 10-15 of the strongest scripts (both hour-long and half-hour) to be shared with the participating studios, networks, and production companies with the goal of identifying writers with whom those organizations would like to work on existing projects.
These finalists will be notified by January 15, 2018, and will automatically be given the option to submit to the second round of ATX Television Festival’s annual Pitch Competition. At that time, to be a valid entry in The ATX Pitch Competition, participants must complete a submission form (free of charge) and include a 90-second video pitch. Additionally, all Black List writers who opt-in to the partnership as of today will receive a discount code for 50% OFF entry fees for the ATX Pitch Competition (reg. $40). The winner of The Pitch Competition receives guidance from one of ATX TV Festival’s judges on honing their winning pitch, a week auditing a working writers room, lunch with a showrunner or executive producer, and more! More information on The Pitch Competition, which opens for submissions on November 1, 2017, can be found here.
