2017 Verizon go90 Fellowship Program

The Black List is pleased to partner with Verizon go90 to offer two new fellowships in which each writer will develop a project in the Young Adult genre.

Applicants with an interest in writing episodic or feature scripts in the Young Adult genre can opt-in for consideration to become a “go90 Fellow” who will participate in a six-month fellowship. Verizon go90 will select writers for both an Episodic Fellowship and a Feature Fellowship, each of whom will receive a $15,000 Fellowship for the purpose of supporting these writers for six months as they work with Verizon go90 to develop a new project in the Young Adult genre.

Starting on the date the $15,000 Fellowship is granted and ending six months thereafter, each go90 Fellow will be required to develop a project in the Young Adult genre, and on or before the expiration of the Fellowship Term provide Verizon go90 with a copy of such New Work along with a report addressing how the Fellowship has been used to advance his/her work in the Young Adult genre. During the Fellowship Term, Verizon go90 will have the option to purchase the New Work from one or both of the go90 Fellows on terms to be negotiated in good faith.

Beginning July 17, 2017, users of the Black List website can opt into consideration for this fellowship.

On November 27, 2017, the Black List will short list 10-15 feature writers and 10-15 teleplay writers based on all data available on the Black List website about their opted in feature screenplays and teleplays.

These short listed candidates will be asked to submit one-page personal statements and resumes, which will be sent to Verizon go90 along with the screenplays/teleplays.

Verizon go90 will review these scripts and choose the Fellowship recipients. Verizon go90 reserves the right to grant no fellowships if, in Verizon go90’s opinion, no entry is of sufficient merit.
