With the exception of 2007 -- when the cover was designed by Amos Kennedy -- Black List covers have been an in house affair.
Think you can do better?
Then the Black List wants you to design its 2009 cover.
Your submission could serve as the official cover of the 2009 Black List, which will be distributed to voters on December 11, 2009 and beyond in the days that follow.
Images should be consistent with the Black List's goal of celebrating great screenwriting and the writers that do it. It should also reference the Black List by name and the year 2009.
Dimensions should be 8.5" by 11" with a resolution of at least 300 ppi. Remember too that many people will print the list to non-color printers, so ideally, color images should print well to B&W.
Beyond that, enjoy.
GUIDELINES & RULES
Submissions will be accepted at cover@blcklst.com through midnight
PST on November 30, 2009. Each email should include the following:
- a single image approximately 8.5" by 11" at a resolution at or exceeding 300 ppi.
- your name
- your email address
- a telephone number where you can be reached
Designers may make more than one submission.
By making a submission, you grant the Black List an exclusive, royalty-free and irrevocable right and license to edit, reproduce, publish, display and otherwise use your entry, in whole or in part, for any purpose and in any manner or media throughout the world in perpetuity.
By making a submission, you represent that you have all rights necessary to submit your entry and to grant the Black List the rights granted above.
Cover design will be announced on http://www.blcklst.com between December 7 and December 11 prior to the release of the official list.
The Black List reserves the right to use a cover design from sources other than submitted contest entries.
